Over the past decade, Brooklyn's Green-Wood Cemetery has become one of the most unusual and exciting places in New York City for public programs, performances, concerts, and tours. It is an accredited Level III Arboretum and, at 478 acres. one of Brooklyn's largest green spaces. As a National Historic Landmark whose beginnings date back to 1838, Green-Wood welcomed more than 330,000 visitors in 2018 alone. Some visited the graves of the famous, or the infamous. Thousands came to attend public programs and events, to take a tour, enjoy performances and outdoor films, or to hear a concert. Many more come to simply enjoy the urban oasis and get away from it all. Green-Wood's bold ambition for the 21st century is to become a major cultural destination in New York City, by providing extensive public programming and visitor services, while maintaining its status as one of the nation's most beautiful and architecturally important historic sites.

About the position
We seek an outstanding candidate for the entry level, half-time position of Green-Wood Historic Fund Coordinator. This is an administrative generalist position that will report to the Manager of Membership and Public Engagement and the Director of Public Programs. The ideal applicant will have excellent communication skills and phone manner. his/her primary responsibility will be to act as a visitor services representative with duties such as:  fielding phone calls from visitors and event goers to sell tickets and give information about Green-Wood; scheduling private tours; prep materials for tours and programs as directed; manage the Visitor Welcome cart, including retail sales and stocking; and manage volunteers for events and the book cart. Other duties may be assigned, as needed. Additionally, as needed, the Coordinator will assist with our donor database by entering donations and purchases in , and by exporting data from our online ticketing and donor sites and importing it into our donor database and will provide general office support, including the upkeep of office supply and retail inventory.

Your qualifications

Experience with Raisers Edge or similar fundraising database strongly preferred. Familiarity with computers, including Office suite is a must. Strong writing skills and a sense of humor warmly welcomed. Must be available for occasional evening or weekend hours to assist with events or special projects. Must be able to lift 50 lbs. and traverse stairs.
