Marketing and Communications Manager - Brooklyn Botanic Garden

Brooklyn Botanic Garden is seeking an enthusiastic, creative, and savvy marketing and communications professional to increase awareness of the Garden’s role in delighting and inspiring New Yorkers.

The Marketing and Communications manager will bring consistency and clarity to the Garden’s image by sharpening our rhetoric, unifying our look and feel, and applying the right message to the right channel at the right time. Working with senior staff throughout the organization, the manager will create and implement small- and medium-sized campaigns in service of driving engagement and visitation to the Garden as part of the overall marketing plan.

Responsibilities:

  • Plan and execute content for social media and email marketing.

  • Work with leaders across the institution to create and implement Marketing and Communications campaigns that drive awareness, engagement, visitation, and sales.

  • Project-manage all Marketing and Communications needs including advertising, collateral, digital, and others.

  • With director of Marketing and Communications, oversee graphic design team and schedule of projects.

  • Collaborate on all BBG graphic design needs including signage, events, and interpretation. Understand and enforce the Garden’s brand identity guidelines.

  • Support public relations outreach with proactive press outreach, on-site press management, and development of press materials. Write press releases and submit listings.

  • Maintain master communications calendar, with related social, email, press, advertising, and design segments.

  • Perform other related duties or special projects as directed.

Qualifications:

  • 3-5 years of previous marketing and/or communications experience, including working at an agency or similar environment

  • Experience developing and executing digital campaigns

  • Expertise in best practices for social media and email marketing

  • Proactive, positive multitasker and problem-solver who can be a collaborative team player

  • Bachelor’s degree required
