Summer Camp Counselors - Brooklyn Museum
The four Summer Camp Counselors are high school or college students who assist in art-making classes, either in painting, drawing, and sculpture or photography and animation, during our Summer Camp sessions for diverse youth ages 8–13.
Note: Department of Health regulations require day camp counselors to be at least 16 years old prior to the start of camp.
Experience teaching youth and/or assisting in art classes
Excellent communication, group management, and teaching skills
Documented good attendance and punctuality
Prepare art supplies
Work one-on-one with campers ages 8–10 or 11–13 during art classes
Lead afternoon activities
Support campers throughout the camp day
Supervise campers at the beginning and end of each day and during lunch time
Start date: June 1, 2019
Reports to: Camp Director

FLSA status: Non-exempt
Salary: $16 per hour
Work schedule: Five days of training, June 6, 8, 22, 27, and 28; camp Monday–Friday, July 1–August 9 (no camp July 4), 8:30 am–4:30 pm; after-camp hours from 4 to 6 pm, 1–4 days per week
